On December 5th, Keon Soon Yim, head of Hot Rolled Steel Group of Samsung C&T Trading & Investment Group received a Bronze Tower of the Industrial Service Merit at the 60th anniversary ceremony of Trade Day held at COEX in Seoul. 

Trade Day is a commemorative day designated by the Korean government to promote the balanced development of trade and solidify Korea's position as a facilitator of trade. Those who have contributed to developing overseas markets, expanding exports and driving economic growth of Korea are given awards on Trade Day celebrated every year. 

At the 60th anniversary ceremony of Trade Day which was held under the slogan “60 Years of National Prosperity Through Export: The Republic of Korea Leaps Again", awards including the Industrial Service Merit, Industrial Medals of Honor, Presidential Citation, etc. were given to 596 trade contributors. Also, 1,704 companies and organizations received “Export Tower” award.

Keon Soon Yim was named the recipient of the prestigious Bronze Tower of the Industrial Service Merit for dedicating himself to expanding exports to Europe and Middle East by adding high values to steel goods produced in Korea. Particularly, he was highly recognized for seizing business opportunities in Europe amid the prolonged Russia-Ukraine war. He actively identified new clients and led the expansion of Korea's steel exports by making best use of Europe-U.S. Safeguard measure on steel goods.

In his award acceptance speech, Yim said, “Celebrating the 60th anniversary of Trade Day, I am so honored to receive this prestigious award on behalf of our company. I express my gratitude to my coworkers that have always stayed supportive, and I will continue to make extensive efforts to constantly challenge myself in a rapidly changing market and achieve growth.”
