Samsung C&T was established in 1938 as Samsung Trading Company, which later became the originating company of Samsung Group. Upholding founder Lee Byung-chul’s philosophy of “Business Patriotism,” Samsung C&T launched its overseas trading business in the 1950s, and was designated as Korea’s first general trading company in 1975. For over eight decades, Samsung C&T has spearheaded the growth of the Korean economy through its global operations, witnessing the ups and downs of the nation’s tumultuous period of modernization.
