Samsung C&T Trading and Investment Group held the Walk Together event in collaboration with Pearl S. Buck Foundation Korea on the 11th to celebrate the so-called “Family Month” of May.
Some 140 participants from families of Samsung C&T employees and multicultural families visited various sites in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, including Imjingak, Dora Observatory, Third Tunnel of Aggression and the DMZ Peace Park. The participants competed in competitions by splitting up into 10 teams, wrote wishes on “peace ribbons,” and took part in treasure hunts. Everyone had a wonderful time with their family and friends through these various activities.
Senior Professional Lee Seung-hwan (Management Support Group), who joined as a volunteer, said, “I had such a memorable experience at the DMZ together with families of Samsung C&T employees and multicultural families. Not only did I enjoy watching the kids have a blast but also had a meaningful time watching and learning various things about the historical site.”
Samsung C&T has been supporting children from multicultural families through various programs since 2006. Go Together and Walk Together are essential events for helping multicultural children to establish their identity as Koreans and to understand correctly about the Korean history.
