Samsung C&T Trading and Investment Group held the “2018 Charity Bazaar” on December 11. The event has been held annually for the less fortunate. This year, the on-site sale, which took place at the Jamsil office building, and the online auction were hosted simultaneously. All proceeds of the charity bazaar will go to the funding of children with congenital diseases from needy families.
The executives and employees of Samsung C&T voluntarily donated their personal goods to the bazaar. Approximately 630 items were collected including clothes, accessories, daily necessities, liquor, sporting goods, electronic devices, and books. Company clubs including Handmade Crafts Club and Embroidery Club donated articles such as hairpins and brooches in line with the so-called “talent donation.”
Meanwhile, the wish tree at the site of the bazaar was decorated with New Year’s wish cards of Samsung C&T executives and employees. A group of migrant women also sold homemade cookies to contribute to the fundraising.
“We were able to hold a more active event as the items collected this year for the charity bazaar were of better quality than usual. We hope the funds raised through the bazaar could be used to treat children in difficult conditions,” said Assistant Manager Kim Sung-Whan, representative of the labor-management committee of Samsung C&T.
