Agreement for a Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant Signed in Indonesia
Samsung C&T and the GRATI CCPP Extension Project Sign EPC Contract
A signing ceremony for the agreement worth USD 0.26 billion (KRW 280 billion) for the GRATI CCPP(Combined Cycle Power Plant) Extension Project was held at PT PLN located in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, on the 19.
The GRATI CCPP Extension Project ordered by PT PLN of Indonesia aims to build a gas CCPP with the capacity of 501MW at a site located within 75km from Surabaya, the east of Java Island, and is worth about USD 0.26 billion.
This project is part of the project to construct a power plant with a capacity of 35GW that is operated by the government of Joko Widodo in Indonesia. By winning the contract, Samsung C&T has secured a favorable position for attracting orders for future power plants in Indonesia.
The GRATI CCPP Extension Project will be launched at the end of 2015, and it is expected to take 26 months to complete. Samsung C&T will operate the EPC project through a consortium with three businesses including Lotte Engineering & Construction and PT. Hutama Karya, and will actively participate in diverse local projects thanks to the favorable position it will gain through this project.
