Samsung C&T established a bridgehead to enter Greater China by opening the Hong Kong Subsidiary in March 1975. In April 1990, it became the first Korean company to be registered in China and, in 2001, the Company drastically strengthened its business in the area by introducing the China Regional Headquarters. With the Shanghai Trading Subsidiary as its major entity, the China Regional Headquarters currently operates two offices in mainland China and three trading subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mongolia, allowing it to conduct intermediary trade in Greater China. In addition to trading, the Headquarters operates a precision stainless steel plant as a regional investment project.
