Samsung C&T is engaged in the global trading of industrial steel products.
Samsung C&T sources and sells steel products worldwide, capitalizing on the experience it has accumulated in steel trading and the global network it has established over the past four decades. To grow into a global top-tier steel trader, we are strengthening our value chain by operating steel coil centers overseas and collaborating with precision stainless steel plants in Europe, China, and Japan.
Samsung C&T sources and trades cold- and hot-rolled steel sheets, stainless steel, crude steel, and wire rods in markets around the world.
We secure various products from domestic advanced steelmakers and overseas steel mills, and supply them to global automakers, consumer electronics manufacturers, construction materials producers, shipyards, and distributors.
We also offer our customers a variety of integrated services, including those through our overseas steel coil centers and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) services.
With the aim of acquiring new local customers and providing differentiated services, Samsung C&T is operating steel coil centers in Slovakia, Malaysia, and Mexico.
In 1997, Samsung C&T acquired a stake in Otelinox S.A., a stainless steel plant in Romania, and has since been operating a precision stainless steel plant.
We have enhanced our product line with high value-added stainless steel, continuously modernized our facilities, and streamlined relevant processes. In recognition of these efforts, Samsung C&T was awarded the “Best Performance Prize” by the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2000, further consolidating our position as the top precision stainless steel trader in Europe.
Furthermore, we have steadily improved our product quality and competitiveness and enhanced our internal processes to satisfy the needs of customers. In 2008, Samsung C&T acquired Myodo Metal, a Japanese precision stainless steel plant with an edge in sophisticated technology, and in 2010, we completed the construction of a precision steel plant in Pinghu, China.
Through such efforts to expand our precision steel production facilities in Europe, China, and Japan, we have laid the foundation to further establish ourselves as a global player in the steel industry.
